Felix Bob Ocitti is a Senior Geologist working for the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU). He has 12 years of industry experience having started in the downstream sector before joining the upstream sector in 2011 and moving to Sinopec Exploration and Production Research Institute in Beijing China. Felix was part of the Ugandan team that evaluated field development plans for 8 fields whose production licenses were awarded in 2016 and also contributed to technical preparations for the first competitive Oil and Gas licensing round in Uganda while working for the Ministry of Energy and Minerals Development. He is a member of the African Union AMREC Working Group charged with developing and promoting the African Minerals and Energy Resource Classification and Management system (AMREC), he is also a member of the United Nations Petroleum Working Group (PWG) charged with aligning the Petroleum Specifications to the United Nations Framework Classification for Resources (UNFC). Felix is an active member of American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He has presented both technical and policy papers locally and internationally. Felix holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum Geoscience from Imperial College London majoring in Development and Production, another Master’s degree in Petroleum Geology from China University of Geosciences majoring in Petroleum Exploration and a BSc. (Hons) Degree Industrial Chemistry from Makerere University Kampala, Uganda.
