Stephen Kuria is the Chairman of the Mineral Rights Board, Ministry of Petroleum and Mining, Kenya. A true leader and entrepreneur, he founded Caleb Partners International (CPI) group of companies in Perth, Western Australia. CPI comprises Accelerate to Excellence (A2E), Australian Industrial & Mining Electrical Solutions (AIMES) and Australia Africa Energy & Minerals Institute (AAEMI) which offers training and consultancy services in Oil and Gas, Mining and Renewable Energy. He has steered CPI as the founder and CEO to what it is today through hard work, innovation, vision, persistence, accountability, commitment and passion. Under his leadership, CPI has expanded to New Zealand, South Africa and East Africa. He is a seasoned professional with over 20 years’ experience spanning across mining, supply chain and oil and gas sectors in Australia, Asia, New Zealand, North America, and Africa. He has steered strategic projects for some of the largest fortune 500 Global Resource companies such as Woodside Energy, BHP Billiton, Baker Hughes Australia, Barrick Gold, Kenya Pipeline Company and Base Resources in Australia, Africa and North America. In addition, he is currently serving as the Chairman for Kenya Australia Chamber of Commerce (KACC), a board member at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya/Australia (ICPAKA) and a team member of the Curtin University SIFE Australia team that won the World Championship in Innovation & entrepreneurship in Barcelona, Spain in September 2004. He is passionate about governance and growth of the extractive sector in Africa and is a frequent speaker in international conferences/ meetings and online events where he articulates his vast knowledge to the audience for further growth in the sector.
